About The Sanctuary Collection

A Simpler Way to Feel Better in Everyday Life

The Sanctuary Collection began with a very simple question:

What if something designed to help us cope better with everyday life didn’t feel like another thing we had to do?

For much of my life, I knew what it was like to feel exhausted and overwhelmed.

There was always something that needed doing, organising, remembering or dealing with. No matter how much I accomplished, the list never seemed to get shorter.

And underneath that constant feeling of being behind was something harder:

The belief that I should be coping better.

Other people seemed to manage.

Why couldn’t I?

I tried many of the things we’re told will help. Some of them were genuinely good.

But there was a problem.

When I was already struggling to get through everything I had to do, I simply couldn’t add another complicated routine.

Another program.
Another set of exercises.
Another thing to remember.
Another opportunity to feel bad when I didn’t keep it up.

Sometimes the very thing that was supposed to help started to feel like more work.

Then I Started Thinking About Music

Music was different.

I already listened to it.

If I loved a song, I didn’t have to force myself to play it. I would happily listen to it again and again.

It didn’t feel like homework.

I didn’t need a special quiet room, the perfect mindset or half an hour carved out of an already busy day.

Music could come with me.

While I was getting ready.
Driving.
Cooking.
Tidying.
Sitting with a cup of tea.

Or during one of those rare moments when I actually had some time to myself.

And eventually I began wondering:

What if the practice itself could be built into the music?

What if something created to help us handle everyday stress could also be enjoyable enough that we actually wanted to come back to it?

What if looking after ourselves didn’t always have to feel like work?

That idea became The Sanctuary Collection.

Real Music for Real Life

The Sanctuary Collection combines original music, gentle touch and simple daily practices designed to help you build greater resilience to everyday stress.

Not so that you feel calm all the time.

Life isn’t like that - and nor should it be.

There are times to feel excited, energised, passionate, focused, joyful, frustrated or deeply moved.

The goal is something more useful:

To help everyday stress take less out of you.

To feel less overwhelmed by the things that used to knock you sideways.

To have more capacity for life.

To recover more easily when things are difficult.

And, little by little, to feel more like yourself again.

It Was Designed to Be Simple on Purpose

You don’t have to become good at meditation.

You don’t have to clear your mind.

You don’t need an enormous morning routine.

And you certainly don’t need another reason to feel as though you’re failing at looking after yourself.

The idea is much simpler:

Play the music. Use the gentle practice. Let it fit into the life you already have.

Sometimes you might sit somewhere quiet and give yourself those few minutes completely.

Other days, the song might play while you’re doing something you already needed to do.

Both count.

There is no perfect way to do this.

For Women Who Already Have Too Much to Do

I know what it’s like to be constantly “on.”

Remembering the appointments.
Buying the birthday gifts.
Planning the meals.
Keeping track of what everyone needs.
Working.
Washing.
Cooking.
Organising.
Thinking about tomorrow while still trying to get through today.

And then, somewhere in the middle of all that, being told you should also make more time for yourself.

Which sounds wonderful.

But when?

I didn’t want The Sanctuary Collection to become another demanding wellbeing program asking an already overwhelmed woman to somehow find more time, energy and motivation.

I wanted it to work in the opposite direction.

Less pressure.
Less complication.
Less to remember.

Something that can become part of the life you already have rather than another task competing for space in it.

Why Songs?

Because repetition is something music already does beautifully.

We don’t think it’s strange to play a favourite song again and again.

We don’t expect ourselves to learn a completely new song every day.

When we enjoy something, we return to it naturally.

That made music feel like a very different starting point for a daily practice.

Instead of constantly asking:

What am I supposed to do today?

you can simply press play.

The songs become familiar.

The practices become familiar.

And instead of having to think about what to do every time life feels like too much, you begin to have something you already know how to return to.

The Philosophy Behind The Sanctuary Collection

I don’t believe women need another message telling them to try harder.

Many are already trying extremely hard.

The Sanctuary Collection was created around a different idea:

What if feeling better could begin with asking less of yourself, not more?

Not avoiding life.

Not trying to stay calm no matter what happens.

But becoming better able to move through everyday stress without it consuming quite so much of you.

Because the bills will still need paying.

Dinner will still need cooking.

People will still need you.

And the washing will, unfortunately, continue producing more washing.

But life can feel different when every little thing doesn’t take quite so much out of you.

You can have more space to think.

More energy left at the end of the day.

More room for enjoyment, connection and the things that matter to you.

More of yourself available for your own life.

That is what The Sanctuary Collection is really about.

Tanya Marie is the creator of The Sanctuary Collection™, a collection of multi-sensory, music-based wellbeing experiences combining original songs with gentle Sanctuary Touch™

Her work grew from her own decades-long experience of chronic exhaustion and overwhelm, and from searching for something that could genuinely help without becoming another complicated routine to keep up with.

When nothing quite suited, or worked, she began exploring a different approach: using music she would naturally want to return to, combined with simple gentle touch and practices that could fit into everyday life.

What began as something she created for herself eventually became The Sanctuary Collection™ - designed to help women feel better, build greater resilience to everyday stress, and feel more like themselves again without adding more pressure.
